HOW IT WORKS

If you're managing a construction or landscaping project, excess soil can quickly pile up and take over your site. It's a common challenge for contractors, builders and developers, and handling it the wrong way can lead to costly fines, environmental damage and logistical delays.

Knowing where to dispose of excess soil matters more than ever as environmental regulations become stricter. With a growing focus on sustainable practices, it's important to understand your options and choose the one that fits your project. Whether it's a small residential job or a large commercial development, proper soil disposal reduces your environmental footprint and keeps you compliant with local regulations.

Step 1

Submit results

Submit your soil characterization report through the form below or by email, along with your source site address and estimated volume.

Step 2

We Review It

Our team reviews your results against our site approvals to confirm whether the soil can be accepted and identify the appropriate receiving location.

Step 3

Acceptance Letter

Once approved, we issue an acceptance letter for your source site, giving you the documentation you need to move your soil.

Step 4

Bring It In

Drop off anytime after approval during receiving hours. Every load is weighed, with daily scale reports and soil tracking.

Reusing soil

Ontario Regulation 406/19 sets requirements for managing excess soil and supporting its beneficial reuse. Bring your excess soil to a YORK1 Soil Management Site, where we’ll review your soil characterization results. If the soil meets applicable requirements and a receiving site’s criteria, it can be sent to a suitable reuse property for an approved project, helping keep reusable soil out of landfill.

Submit your soil characterization report to get started.
