York acquires SC Disposal. This move expands York’s operation to include full-service waste management and recycling services.

Two months later, York acquires Toronto-based MCS Group, further broadening York’s portfolio of services to include hydro excavation, CCTV sewer inspection and flushing, directional drilling, detailed excavation and site services.

The profile of York continues to grow with the coveted SkyDome project. This project was the largest excavation in downtown Toronto with more than 1 million m3 of soil moved!

With the commencement of the Scotia Plaza project, York sets the record for the deepest excavation project in Canadian history  –110 feet deep!

York breaks ground on another landmark project, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This venue continues to be a leading conference centre in Canada.

York starts work on its first  milestone project Roy Thomson Hall, supported by a fleet of 25 trucks and other pieces of machinery.
